South Bend has a wonderful public library system that offer an amazing amount of books, DVDs, and CDs; has fantastic story times for the kids; and organizes all sorts of great seminars and events. Last weekend was the Open Book Festival for the kids that featured storytellers, singers, authors and much loved PBS children's characters. Magnolia was in heaven as she met Curious George, Martha, Peter Rabbit, the Cat in the Hat and many others. Rosemary Wells was the visiting author and Jim Gill provided fun music and dance for the little ones.
We attend the story time on Wednesday mornings at the branch near our home. My plan for the winter is to spend one morning every 2 weeks browsing the shelves with the girls and letting them pick out some books and movies to enjoy at home. A library is a true treasure and I hope you fully enjoy what yours has to offer.
