Spring has Sprung

Although we got some snow (!) yesterday, we have had enough nice days and sunshine that I have officially packed away our winter coats.  I enjoy putting those away for two reasons.  For one, it means its warm enough to not need those coats anymore.  And also, as our family grows we have the need for more and more coats and snowsuits and those things are bulky and take up so much space.  When all that winter stuff is packed away I feel like our home is a bit lighter, like after cleaning out a cluttered area of your house and purging...aaahhhhh.

So the kids have been playing outside everyday that its not raining or snowing (!) (seriously, what the heck!!).  Sometimes they still have to bundle up a bit, but other days they get too hot for even a jacket.  We've visited the zoo and park, taken a few walks and bike rides around the neighborhood, and played a ton in the backyard.  Now the countdown is on for the pools and splash pads to open for the season!

Why?

Why does my child insist on being THE messiest eater on the planet. Three times a day a little part of my dies inside when I look at the mess the one child has made that I then have to clean up. Not only is he covered from head to toe with sticky, greasy, smashed on food, but half the kitchen has been decorated with the latest meal. Lord have mercy!

Our Easter

So this is what happens when I don't commit to blogging a certain amount like I did over Lent. 2 weeks go by without a post while I had every intention to put up at least our Easter pictures only a few days after Lent ended. Every night I tell myself that I'll update the blog tomorrow and then tomorrow turns into 2 weeks. I'll try and find some rhythm this summer and make sure I post more regularly.

Easter morning the kids came down excited to see what the Easter Bunny had left in their baskets. When the girls started squealing and running to their baskets, Henry copied them and ran right over to his! It was the cutest thing.

I think everyone was happy with their goodies. And now 2 weeks later, they are all still enjoying their new things and playing with them all the time. Boothe has been loving doctoring up her stuffed animals and family members. Magnolia loves using her new stencils and markers to make new pictures. And little Henry attached right away to her stuffed doggy and loves snuggling with it when he is going to sleep. When he wakes up and I go into his room to get him he is almost always still holding onto that dog!

All of us all cleaned up for church. We headed out to my parents' house after church for Easter lunch with the family. We had dinner the night before over at Cory's house to have an Easter meal with them. Before church we stopped by their house, though, so they could see the kids in their darling Easter best. Mary always sends the kids Christmas and Easter outfits to wear to church and other fancy events and they are always ridiculously cute!

The girls eating at the kids table at my parents. Right now it's just the 2 of them but before too long the kids table will have 5 kids and growing!
