Halloween

We had two Indian princesses and a little cowboy this year on Halloween.  Brooke brought her little lion to join the bunch and to go trick-or-treating together.

Henry made it to the end of the block and then Dan took him home while the girls and I went down another block before Boothe began to get cold.  We headed home but Magnolia still wasn't done so Dan went back out with her for at least another hour.  Her pumpkin bucket was almost completely full!  What a weird, fun tradition trick-or-treating is!  To be a kid again!

Back from Vacation

Well I never meant to take any kind of break from my blog, let alone almost 3 months!  Whoops!  I wish I could say I have been on an extended vacation to Hawaii perhaps, but instead I've been home all this time mere feet away from my computer with the ability to update this blog on nearly any given night.  I would love to find a way to make updating my blog easier, then I would be more likely to post more often.  Maybe I'll have to make that my goal for the new year.

Another item on my to-do list for the new year is to rename the blog.  Henry is just a few weeks shy of 1 year and his name and picture are still missing from the marquee.  Lots to do!  I'm open to any and all name suggestions.  I was thinking Life with Boothe.  Boothe is definitely the 'spice' of our family and the one who keeps things interesting.  Kind of the Dennis the Menace of the Cory family.  But I keep this blog as a kind of online journal for all my kids and don't think I should single out one of them in name.  I would love to hear any thoughts!

I've been doing a lot of reading during the past several months and have read some wonderful books that I want to share my thoughts on.  Planning a couple posts on those books soon but anytime you want to check out what I'm reading, what I've recently read or what's on my to-read list click on the Good Reads link on the right side of the blog.  I love using goodreads.com.  It keeps my book lists organized, gives me recommendations based on what's on my lists and you can become friends with others to find out what books they are reading and their thoughts on books they have read.  If you are on Good Reads let me know so that I can friend you on there.

Another "activity" taking up my blogging time lately has been Pinterest.  I have been busy enjoying the eye candy on other's boards, finding new recipes and crafty projects, making those wonderful recipes and projects, and obsessing over design ideas for my next kitchen and laundry room/mud room.  We are hoping to move in the next year and a half and I told Dan that I don't care what the rest of the house looks like because I may never leave my dream kitchen and laundry room.  Moving is exciting and stressful at the same time and I haven't even packed a box yet!

So to catch back up for the past 3 months of blog neglect, I will be posting every day in December.  You can hold me to it.  I have lots of things to post about so stay tuned!
