The Day the Zoo Came to Us

Let me preface this post by saying that I was NOT home during this event and if I had been, I'm going to take a wild guess and say that things would have gone very differently...

While I was away for a couple hours, Dan and the girls were home playing. When walking up to the sink, he noticed a small mouse that seemed to be stuck. He had obviously crawled into the sink to eat something on a dirty dish in there and was unable to get back out. I feel like the last couple sentances make it sound like sharing our home with mice is normal and common. Even though that is untrue I'm not sure why. Seriously what small rodent wouldn't love our home? It is like the Disneyland for Mickey and all his friends with small food crumbs seemingly littering every corner of the place. Two kids who feed themselves must be a mouse wonderland.

So, Dan captures this mouse in a food storage container and mismatched lid. After writing that I'm beginning to wonder if he threw out this particular container and lid or if it is currently holding tonight's leftovers???

Instead of removing this unwelcomed guest right away, the camera comes out and we are apparently hosting a small traveling zoo in our home. Again, I was NOT home at this time.

After some time, (I'm not sure how long exactly) it's time to take the mouse outside. However, with a mismatched lid a opening develops as Dan is carrying it and out slips the mouse who quickly dashes under our oven.

We haven't seem the little guy since, but did hear him that evening making himself at home inside the oven. But what are you going to do? You can't see nor reach ever nook and cranny inside an oven. Perhaps he's made his way back outside on his own.
Let's home this picture is the one and only of it's kind!
