Well, after the lightning fast -- and drug-free! -- delivery, Jenica bounced back amazingly quickly. She was ready to go home by the end of the day on Saturday (the same day Boothe was born). The doctors recommended that she stay at least Saturday night and looking back on it, that was probably a good idea....you can't put a price on having nurses around to come and take your baby away when you're ready to get some sleep (and bring you some ice water while they're at it!). It was nice to have the day on Saturday to hang out with the family while Boothe slept.
"You guys have fun....I'm happy to just sleep!"
We were able to leave the hospital on Sunday afternoon...the pediatrician was hesitant to let Boothe go home less than 48 hours after she was born. Fortunately he caved after checking Boothe out and seeing that everything was looking perfect with her and Mom. It's a good thing too because we probably would have left even without his approval and that may not have been the best way to start off Boothe's relationship with her doctor.
"Don't tell me what I can't do!"
(LOST reference there)
Where did she get that stubborn streak?
